New measurements of differential cross-sections (DCSs) for the excitation of the X 1Σ g+ (v′ ′ = 0) → a′′1Σ g+, the b1Πu, c1Πu, o1Πu, b ′ 1 +Σu and c ′ 1 +Σu and the F 3Πu and G 3Πu transitions in N2 are presented, in the energy loss region of 12.0eV to 13.82eV. The DCSs were obtained from energy loss spectra measured at incident energies of 17.5eV, 20eV, 30eV, 50eV and 100eV and for scattering angles ranging from 3o to 130o. The analysis of the spectra follows a different algorithm from that employed in a previous study of N2 for the valence states by Khakoo et al. [Physical Review A 71, 062703 (2005)], since the 1Πu and 1 +Σu states form a strongly perturbatively-interacting valence-Rydberg series. The resulting data are compared to exi...
